Tom (Taco) Sanchez was born, March 31, 1951, in Ogden Utah to Moises and Mary Sanchez. Tom was the most generous man you would ever know; he would not hesitate to open his home when family or friend needed a place to stay. He would lend money to anyone who asked, if he saw someone in need he would buy them food or whatever they needed. Including, giving away a truck, with title free and clear, because someone needed it. That generosity flowed into the line of work he chose; he was a cook in many restaurants, which is where he received the nickname, Taco. Tom had the opportunity to open and be the head cook in Ogden, JB's Big Boy, TamaRack Restaurant and many others in the area, which led to a following of customers from restaurant to restaurant. He taught his skills in cooking and customer service to his family members as well. Tom never knew how many lives he enhanced and influenced with his generosity, good humor, and cooking. Tom graduated from Ben Lomond High School and served honorably in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. Tom is survived by his 3 brothers, Steve, Michael, and Morris Sanchez, and his 2 sisters, Nancy Roulette, and Anne Sanchez. Many nieces, nephews, and grand nieces, grand nephews, he is preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Moises Sanchez. The family would like to say a special Thank you to the medical staff at the Veteran's Hospital in Portland Oregon and The Fisher House in Vancouver Washington. Viewing and Rosary services will be held on Friday, June 23, 2017, 6 to 8 p.m. at Leavitt's Mortuary, 836 36th Street Ogden, UT. Mass is Saturday June 24th, 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 4050 S 3900 W, West Haven, UT. Burial at Lindquist Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Rd., Ogden, UT. Lunch will be served at St. Mary's Catholic Church following the Burial.
