Norma was born June 7, 1927 at Wilford, Idaho. The daughter of Alma Wilburn and Ethel Hiatt Greenhalgh. She came from a family of 17 children. She was a home maker, a seamstress and a published poet. Sharing those poems with many of her family and friends. She married Thomas Hyrum Ball August 22, 1948 at Macks Inn, Idaho. Tom and Norma raised their family in Willard on a little farm where they had fruit trees and a huge garden. Norma loved to work in her garden and could grow about anything. She also an excellent seamstress and amazing cook. Norma loved to travel and after Tom retired from HAFB they spent many years traveling around the country. They moved in 1998 to a wonderful ward and neighborhood in Nampa, Idaho and lived there for about 15 years. Oct 6, 2000 Norma and Tom were able to attend the Boise temple and receive their endowments. Then as a family we were able to be sealed for all eternity. They moved August 2013 to Brigham City to a little house up by the golf course then to Maple Springs Assisted Living Center. We want to take this opportunity to thank the many angels that work at Maple Springs and have helped Norma during this time. Their love and care has been incredible. During Norma's final months the wonderful people from Integrity Hospice joined the team as well and were instrumental in helping Norma's final days be comfortable. Surviving are their four children: Thomas F. Ball (Paula), Dessie Ball, Connie Ball Dabel (John) and Cory Ball (Alice) 13 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. Three brothers: Sylvan Greenhalgh (Margaret); Lloyd Greenhalgh (DeAnn); Dennis Greenhalgh (Kathy); Four sisters: Joyce Chappel (Earl); Faye Davies (Dean); Barbara Rigby (Leo) and Natella Romrell (Lynn). Norma was preceded in death by her sweetheart Tom who passed away just 28 days before her. It was the longest the couple had ever been apart in 68 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and eight brothers. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at 12 Noon at Gillies Funeral Chapel, 634 East 200 South, Brigham City, Utah. A viewing will be held on Thursday prior to the service from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the funeral chapel. Interment will be in the Fielding Memorial Park, Idaho Falls, Idaho on Friday at 1:00 p.m.

Condolences

I would like to extend my condolences on the passing of both of your parents now. I remember your mother sewing lots of beautiful clothing for my sisters and I. She was great and I know that when she moved away we could never find anyone as good as her to sew for us. I know that she and your father will be greatly missed and it will be the good times that you will all remember that will keep you together. You are in our thoughts and prayers always.
