Pleasant View-Our loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend, Michael David Wiggill, passed away peacefully on the morning of February 20, 2017, after a short but valiant battle with brain cancer. Mike was born on July 31, 1959 to Elaine Bolander and Kirt G Wiggill. He was the eighth of nine children. He was raised in Ogden where he graduated from Ogden High School in 1976 and attended Weber State College. Mike married Linda Wells in the Ogden Temple for time and all eternity, in October of 1983. They have been married for 33 years. They have one son, his pride and joy, Nick. Mike worked for many years in the soft drink industry and then in real estate, where he made many life-long friends. Mike enjoyed the outdoors, going fishing in Vernal, cooking, and watching sports. He also enjoyed the many things he was able to do with his nephew Jeremy, who was like a second son. After the passing of his mother, Mike became the keeper of his brothers and sisters. He was always willing to do whatever it took to help in any way. Other than being a father, the greatest joy of his life was being Santa. This became a year round passion for him, making it a priority to bring joy and happiness to those around him not just at Christmas but every day. Mike was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in a variety of callings. His greatest experience was being called to serve in the Bishopric. Mike was quick with a joke and had a sense of humor that he used to the very end. Mike is survived by his wife, Linda; son, Nick; siblings: Shauna Stevens, Paul, John, Bonnie Munson, A'Layne Smith, Terry and Suzanne; with many nieces, nephews and cousins who called him "grandma". Preceding him in death are his parents; brother, Alan and Uncle Max. The family wishes to thank the many doctors, nurses, caregivers and therapists who attended to Mike. We also thank those who have donated to help cover his medical costs. Accounts have been set up at America First and Goldenwest Credit Unions to help with additional costs. Because of the sacred nature surrounding his funeral, the family requests that no Santa hats be worn the day of the funeral, but may be worn to his viewing. Any other red attire would be appropriate. Thank-you for your respect in this matter. A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 27, 2017 at 11:00am at the Pleasant View 8th Ward, 250 W Elberta Drive. Viewings will be held on Sunday, February 26, 2017 from 6-8pm at the church and again on Monday prior to the service from 10-10:40am. Interment will be in the Ogden City Cemetery.

My heart is broken into a million pieces. Sending love to Linda, Nick and the rest of the family. So grateful that this man stepped into my life over 23 years ago. He was such a caring and giving man. His jokes were the very thing that brightened my day when he would stop into my store. Sending hugs from afar, I so wish I could be there to hug you all in person. Rest In Peace Santa. You will sorely be missed.
