"Together Again"

BRIGHAM CITY - On Monday, October 31, 2017, Merleen Thurgood "Pink" Herbert passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family. Merleen was the oldest of Don J. and Lula M. Price Thurgood's five children. Lula died tragically when Merleen was seven years old, leaving Merleen to care for her four younger siblings. Merleen's father then married Algie May Herbert and Algie's eight children became Merleen's siblings and the weight of the world was taken off Merleen's young shoulders. Merleen married Jay M. Herbert on December 12, 1946. They were later sealed for time and all eternity on December 27, 1991. Together, they raised five sons and Merleen's much awaited daughter. Dave (Marita); Mark, Craig, Sharr, Kurt (Paula- deceased); Chad (Tina); Scott Berry "Herbert"; 23 grandchildren; 51 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; one brother, Paul and one sister, Ruayne. Merleen spent her life giving service to others. She loved and lost many and was an angel and mother to all. The family would like to thank Integrity Home Health and Hospice, especially; Alexis, Erik and Jodi for their wonderful care of our mother. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. at the Brigham City LDS 19th Ward Chapel, 105 West Fishburn Drive. Viewings will be held at the church on Friday, Nov. 3rd from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. Interment will be in the Brigham City Cemetery. Funeral services Entrusted to Gillies Funeral Chapel, Brigham City, 435-723-5236.

Leave Condolences

Ruayne (my mom) loved "pink" so much and was extremely close to her even with mom's (ruayne's) dementia. The night before aunt merlene passed she was able to tell my dad that she knew she needed to be somewhere and that something sad was going to happen. It was so special to see aunt merlene a few months ago and have her FaceTime with my mom. Thank you sharr for everything you have done to take care of your mom. Your dad, mom, and your daughter love you very much. You are in heavenly peace now aunt merlene. I love you.

Kurt, Mica, Danielle, Cody,Jay and Jess and family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time. So sorry I'm not able to make it up, but please know that we are thinking of you all.

To the family of Merleen, We offer our very sincere sympathy to all of you. Merleen will be missed by a lot of people. The Herbert family are our neighbors and the children were class mates of our children. I personally remember Merleen as she sold Avon and those cute little samples she gave me. Our prayers are with all of you as you grieve this loss. Please know that Merleen is united with family and friends and we will see her again. May you find peace and comfort in knowing that God has called her home to live with Him forever. Blessings,

Ray and Ruby McQuain

To our family...We mourn the loss of Aunt Merleen along with you all! She was our angel on this earth, and always made you feel you were a very important person in her life. We will miss her, and her sweet spirit, but we know she is with those she loved so much that passed before her. Just know we love you all, and are here for you.
