BRIGHAM CITY – Our loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Margaret K Owen Shea, 72, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on September 20, 1945 in Brigham City, Utah, a daughter of Ezra Benson and Phyllis Margaret Kirkham Owen. She graduated from Box Elder High School in 1963 and Utah State University in 1967 with a degree in Art Education. She married her sweetheart, James Gorman Shea on February 8, 1969 in Brigham City, Utah. She was a member of the Brigham City LDS 9th Ward. Margaret worked at Brigham City Community Hospital and the Brigham City Museum Gallery. Margaret loved quilting, embroidering, scrapbooking, gardening, laughing, bead work and most of all her grandkids who she loved with all her heart. The family would especially like to thank her sister, Kathleen for her final act of love for Margaret. Also a thank you to her special support aide, Elaine Egbert, Brent Schow NP, hospice nurses, Lori Gillies, Brad Mower and Brent Gillies. Surviving is her husband, Jim; four daughters: Susan (Mike) Maero; Katie Shea; Amy (Jammie) Greer; Sarah (Jason) Cheney; 12 beautiful and loud grandchildren, and her sweet dog, Gracie. Three siblings, Kathleen (Russ) Cornelius; Tom (Heidi) Owen; Bill (Heidi) Owen. She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved sweet dog, Molly. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Gillies Funeral Chapel, 634 East 200 South, Brigham City A viewing will be held on Friday, October 20, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in Brigham City Cemetery. Thank you Dad for your patient loving care of our Mom. We love you.

I remember Margaret for many things going back many decades. I was especially touched by the kindness she and her girls showed to my mother. Becky and I express our condolences to Jim and the girls and the grandchildren.

Maggie was a ray of sunshine to all who knew her. Such a colorful and fun gal! Loved working with her at the hospital so many years ago. My love to you, Jim, and the girls. I'm so sorry for your loss. I do believe that death is Life's greatest adventure, and I believe Heaven is celebrating Maggie's arrival!

I'm so sorry for your loss. I remember the fun times we had at your house making cracked marbles in the oven and baking with your mom.I hope you find peace at this difficult time

We remember Margaret for her kindness and her great sense of humor. Margaret was so creative with fabric art and soft sculpture, her humor was even represented in her art. Love and condolences to Jim and family.
