Judith Gardner Roberts, 80, a beautiful daughter of God, slipped away early Monday morning in Brigham City UT, quietly and reverently back to the waiting arms of her Savior; with her parents, sister and daughter anxiously waiting their reunion. Judith Gardner Roberts was born on the 17th of January 1937 at St Marks Hospital in Salt Lake City Utah, the oldest of three daughters to her father, John Blunck Gardner and her mother, Erma Bernice Keller. She would say they were the best parents a child could have and was raised in a home that equal none other and she had chosen them in the Pre-existance. She was raised surrounded by family at the Keller homestead in East Millcreek in the original adobe house built by her grandpa Alva Keller who settled Millcreek. She was raised by a village surrounded by many of her uncles and aunts whom she loved very much and shared many experiences with. She always looked forward to every Gardner and Keller reunion. She attended Olympus and Granite high schools where she excelled academically. She faithfully served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Buenos Aires Argentina which was the same place where her beloved father had served many years before. She attended Weber State University where she graduated as a RN. She worked at Primary Children’s Hospital and continued her education at the University of Utah graduating with her BS in nursing. She taught nursing at BYU’s Salt Lake campus and needing a Masters to continue she went to the University of Washington and received her Masters of Nursing. There she met Paul Aaron Roberts and they married in the Salt Lake Temple for time and all eternity on December 20, 1968. She headed and taught the Vocational Nursing program in Bozeman Montana 1969-70. She also started and ran the RN program at the College of Southern Idaho from 1970-78 and finally settled in Brigham City Utah with her family where she worked as a Charge Nurse, along with her sister, at Pioneer Care Center in Brigham City from 1978 to her retirement in 2003. Wanting a family badly she adopted her first son, had a beautiful daughter who passed away soon after birth, and then adopted two more children after which the Lord blessed her with two beautiful daughters to fill her house with chaos and laughter. She will forever be remembered as the strongest and hardest working lady under 5 feet. Her greatest joy was in her children and then her grandchildren. She wore a smile larger than most twice her size. She was reverent in her humility and was honorable with her testimony of her Savior Jesus Christ. The temple was her home away from home and could be seen there every Thursday. She enjoyed walks with her husband always coming home with a stash of things they found while on their walks. She always had a soft spot for her dogs and they will be glad to have her spoil them once again. Judith is survived by her husband Paul Aaron Roberts, daughter Merry Ruth DeHayes (Robert), son David A Roberts (Suzie), son Kerry John Roberts, daughter BenNita Judith Gage (Jack), daughter Hilma Norene Brumbaugh (Steve), 19 grandchildren and her sister Norene Gardner Gibby (Leo). She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Mildred Maud Gardner and her daughter Lisa Erin Roberts. Viewing will be held Thursday, October 5, 2017 at Gillies Funeral Chapel in Brigham City, 634 E 200 S from 6-8 pm and on Friday from 10-10:40 prior to the Funeral services at the church. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 6, 2017 at 11:00 am at the Brigham City 22nd Ward building Brigham City West Stake Center, 895 N 625 W in Brigham City, UT. Interment at the Brigham City Cemetery.

I work at the Brigham City temple on Thursday morning. It has been a blessing in the lives of each of us sisters who work at the temple to have Sister Roberts come each week. She brought a sweet spirit with her each week We have missed her the last couple of weeks and she will be missed. We each learned from her. Thanks for sharing with us on Thursdays. Love,

Joan Argyle
