Willard – Jarvis B Facer, 79 passed away peacefully on Friday, May 19, 2017 at Ogden Regional Hospital with his family by his side. Jarvis was the sixth child of six born on December 22, 1937 in his childhood home in Willard. Jarvis was the son of Meshach Prior and Susie Lucinda Wood Facer. He was reared and educated in Willard and graduated from Box Elder High School. He married Rowena Williams on January 29, 1960 in San Luis Obispo, California. Later they were sealed in the Logan LDS Temple. He served in the US Army. He was a member of the Willard 1st Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he was an Elder. Jarvis worked at Hill Air Force Base. He retired from Thiokol after 35 years of service. He worked for the Golden Spike National Park for 20 years. He served on the Willard City Council. Jarvis lived in Willard (Zion) his entire life and enjoyed the Willard Mountains, especially being in the basin. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and loved raising Peaches. He spent his entire life working on the family farm. Jarvis cherished the fall harvest, where a 14" inch Angela Peach was proudly sold to clients as far away as North Eastern Montana and South Dakota. After the fall harvest was completed, he rested in the Basin Deer camp with his son, Kelly and close friends. Jarvis was involved in the Willard Little League Baseball, Pony League, and Colt League. He coached the Willard Little League Team go to the 1974 World Series. He umpired high school baseball teams and City League Ball and he really enjoyed being on the field. The most important thing in his life was his family. Surviving are his wife, Rowena; son Kelly (Cindi) Facer; Julie Schlickeiser; Sydnee (Stan) Podesek; seven grandchildren, one step grandchild, four great grandchildren, one step great grandchild, two brothers, Don (Elaine) Facer and Darwin (Shirley) Facer. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Ricky Facer, one brother, Lorin Facer, two sisters, Wilma Davis and Naldi Cutler. In lieu of flowers the family would like donations to be sent to his wife, Rowena, please send them to Gillies Funeral Chapel, PO BOX 704, Brigham City, Utah 84302. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Gillies Funeral Chapel, 634 East 200 South, Brigham City, Utah. A viewing will be held on Wednesday from 9:00 to 10:40 a.m. at the funeral chapel. Interment will be in the Willard City Cemetery, where military honors will be accorded by the Combined Veterans Honor Guard of Box Elder County.

So so sorry to read of his passing He was a good friend I worked with him at ATK ((Thiokol) for all of his 35 years He was a great leader and boss We made many trips together for our work He will be missed by many especially his family I am in Alaska right now and can not be at his services but Janice and I give our condolences to your family
