Together Again

Harlan Gardner Pulsipher, 91, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2017 in St. George, Utah. Harlan was born in St. George, Utah on July 8, 1926 to John William and Annie Loree Gardner Pulsipher. He lived most of his elementary and high school years in Richmond, Utah. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II from the summer of 1944 to June of 1946. He worked as a chemist for several different companies and retired from Thiokol Corporation on July 1, 1991. Harlan married Marilyn Allen on August 22, 1947 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They were the proud parents of 12 children. They lived in Logan, Los Angeles, Bordeaux, France, Spokane, Tooele, Brigham City and Perry. He moved to St. George, Utah a few years after his wife passed away. He was a devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served faithfully in many callings. He and his wife, Marilyn served three missions for the church. They served in Perth, Australia; Orlando, Florida; New York, New York North missions. He also served as an ordinance worker for the Ogden and Brigham City Temples. Harlan is survived by his children: Nancy Pulsipher; John (Christy); Dianne Pulsipher; Janet (Randy) Lint; Darlene (Randy) Jensen; Mark (Wendy); Alice (Cory) Ball; Michael (Jenny); Richard; Craig (Sheila). He is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren, his brother Robert and his sister Wilma Turpen. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn; son, Howard; daughter, Marie Montefusco; grandson, Zachary Pulsipher; brother, Mason; and his parents. Funeral services will be held, Saturday, September 30 at 12 Noon at Gillies Funeral Chapel, 634 East 200 South, Brigham City. A viewing will be held on Saturday from 10:30 to 11:40 a.m. at the funeral chapel. Interment will be in the Richmond Cemetery, where military honors will be accorded by the Combined Veterans of Box Elder County.
