Corinne – Our loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, Dean LeRoy Pierce, 87, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 28, 2017 at Willow Glen Rehab Center with his family surrounding him. He was born at the family home on March 18, 1930 in Farmington, Utah, a son of Henry Oliver and Sarah Josephine Rounds Pierce. He graduated from South Cache High School in Hyrum, Utah in 1949. He was drafted to the US Army and served during the Korean Conflict. Dean returned from the US Army and married his sweetheart, Jean Thomas on January 10, 1952 in Logan, Utah. He loved being a carpenter, working with his hands and being outside. He also enjoyed puttering around, working on cars, an avid picker, and didn't waste anything. He loved being grandpa to all children. Surviving is his wife, Jean of 65 years; eight children, JeDeane (Ed) Corbett; Seth (Kim) Pierce; Robert Pierce; Kathie (David) Fisher; Ollie (Barbara) Pierce; Marcie (Kolbie) Greer; Jared Pierce; Jaclyn (Brian) Crook; 21 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, one brother, Elden Pierce and one sister, Alene Wood. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and four sisters. The family would like to express their utmost thank you to the staff of Willow Glen Rehab for the excellent care they gave to our husband and father and a special thanks to Integrity Home Health and Hospice. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 4, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Corinne LDS First Ward Chapel, 2335 North 4000 West. A visitation will be held on Thursday at the church from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in Corinne Cemetery, where military honors will be accorded by Box Elder Combined Veterans Honor Guard.
