BRIGHAM CITY – Daniel Brent Kaminsky, our loving husband, father, son, and brother slipped away to Heaven peacefully Friday, April 21, 2017. He is joining his daughter, Ashton there. Daniel was born in Ogden, Utah on March 6, 1975 to Dave and Debra Stevens Kaminsky. He is the oldest of four children. Daniel grew up in Farr West, Utah and graduated from Weber High School in 1993. He served an LDS mission in California. Daniel married Karie Lee Smith on August 5, 1997 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They have two daughters, Meagan and Amber. Daniel graduated from Weber State University with a teaching degree in theater arts. Daniel has worked many jobs to provide for his little family, but his love was always teaching theater. He has taught at City Academy and Stillwater Academy in Salt Lake City and also at Roy High School, Bear River High School and Bear River Middle School. He has also been an active participant in directing, acting, set production, tech support and general volunteering help at both the Heritage Theater in Perry and the Brigham City Fine Arts Center. Daniel was active in his Brigham LDS 3rd Ward and served in many different callings. Daniel loved life and lived it fully. He was cheerful and positive even when life threw him curve balls. His students loved him and we are grateful for their many kind words and deeds remembering Daniel as a great teacher who impacted their lives. Daniel is survived by his wife, Karie and their two daughters, Meagan and Amber; his parents, Dave and Debra Kaminsky; three siblings, Daryl (April) Kaminsky; December (John) Cope; Devin (Chalee) Kaminsky and many nieces and nephews. Daniel we are so thankful to have had your positive, cheerful, fun and funny influence in our lives! You will be so very, very missed! In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a memorial fund at America First Credit Union in Daniel's name. Viewings will be held on Thursday, April 27, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Gillies Funeral Chapel, 634 East 200 South, Brigham City and on Friday at the church from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Funeral service will be held Friday, April 28, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Brigham City LDS 3rd Ward Chapel, 205 North 200 West. I am so sorry for your loss. I am Heather Rubert's mother. I knew Dan as he and Heather went to school together, and became friends during the years..We have had some early unexpected deaths in our family too. If it wasn't for the gospel in our lives, it would be impossible to go on. I am so grateful Dan was a part of our lives, even though I haven't seen him for years. am so glad he got to fulfill his dreams to be a drama teacher. God be with you. You are in my thoughts, and prayers at this difficult time. May the Holy Ghost give you and your family the comfort you need. Sincerely

Mickie Rubert

Daniel worked with me for a few months at the Promontory Autoliv plant. What a great example of staying positive and happy when he was between teaching jobs. Such a wonderful man with great integrity; and a prime example of someone who lived the gospel of Jesus Christ in all settings. Love you Buddy.

Thank you, Dan, for your friendship and support these last several years. It was always fun to run into you whenever I came up to Brigham. Karie and your girls were great friends, and I loved every second of "History of America" back in the day. Your family are in my prayers.
