Brigham City – Our loving wife, mother, grandma, sister and aunt, Colleen Halling Spence, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 25, 2017. She was born on January, 23, 1946 to Alice Holdaway and Kenneth J Halling. Colleen was raised and lived her whole life in Brigham City, Utah and graduated from Box Elder High School. Colleen married the love of her life, Dennis Clifford Spence, November 8, 1968, in the Logan Temple. They had two children, Sheri Hemsley and K.C. She was a member of the LDS church and held various positions throughout the years. Colleen was a beautician and loved doing hair. She loved reading, scrap booking, crocheting, cub scouting, collecting elephants and above all she loved spending time with her family. Colleen was preceded in death by her parents, and one sister, Cheryl Delaney. She is survived by her husband; children; four granddaughters, Paige, Jerica, Kailey and Alora; four siblings, Reva Cates, Gene, Reed and Steve Halling. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 30, 2017 at the LDS 3rd ward building, 203 North 200 West, at 11:00 a.m. Viewings will be held on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at Gillies Funeral Chapel, 634 East 200 South, Brigham City from 6-8 and again on Thursday prior to the service at the church from 10-10:40. Interment will be in the Brigham City Cemetery.

I am so sorry that I won't be able to be with you this week. Colleen and Dennis were the people who first welcomed us to Brigham City. They have been the dearest of friends and choicest of examples ever since.

With a sad heart we learned of the passing of Colleen. She was always a wonderful person with a great attitude, even with all the health problems she endured. Dennis our prayers are with you.
