Brigham City- Our loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend, Bessie Lee Gallegos, passed away on July 26, 2017, at her home in Brigham City. Bessie was born on October 20, 1927, to Roselyn and Robert E Lee. She was born in Fort Defiance Arizona. Bessie was raised in Arizona and came to Brigham as a CNA to work in the Bushnell Hospital. While working in the hospital Bessie met her husband, Joseph V. Gallegos. They were married in 1953. Together they celebrated 52 years. Bessie worked as night mother at the Intermountain Indian School for over 32 years. After she retired from there, she was a CNA for several homebound ladies in the community. Bessie was a member of the Catholic Church. She attended St. Henry's Church. Bessie enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, beadwork, putting puzzles together, listening to country music, camping and fishing, word searches, bowling, watching family feud, hunting golf balls with her husband, she loved telling Indian stories to her daughter in law, above all she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Bessie is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons Benjamin (Dark cloud) M and Francis (Whimpey) R Gallegos; grandson Dustin Everton; two great grandsons Aquiles (Boogie) Arellano, Moises Tapia; and all of her siblings. She is survived by four children, Robert (Ann) Gallegos, Susie (Ed) Martinez, Greg (Stacey) Gallegos and Victoria (Martin) Arellano; 18 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, August 3, 2017 at St. Henry's Church, 380 South 200 East, Brigham at 11:00 am. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at Gillies Funeral Chapel, 634 East 200 South, Brigham, from 6-8pm. A Rosary will be held Wednesday at 7 pm. Interment will be in the Brigham City Cemetery.
