Our beloved mother and grandmother, Arlene (Lyons) Fuller, passed into the loving arms of Jesus, Friday February 24, 2017 at the age of ninety-two. She was surrounded by family in the home of her daughter in Sacramento, CA where she has lived for the past six and a half years. Born Arlene Constance Gunderson on Sept. 6, 1924 in Casper, Wyoming, she spent her early childhood and teenage years in Los Angeles, CA where she later met and married our amazing father who became a quality control inspector for the third stage of the Apollo project. Arlene and Dale were married on March 20, 1943 at Saint Alphonso's Roman Catholic Church in Los Angeles, California. They parented two children, George and Linda, raising them in Beaumont, CA and afterwards spent their early retirement years caravanning with friends enjoying salmon fishing and camping, traveling yearly to Canada and Mexico. Later retirement years found them settling in Brigham City, UT close to her brother James Lyons and family. We give thanks to God for her precious, beautiful life, for she was devoted to one goal-----to nurture and give active witness to a loving God for her family. This is our, her children's greatest gift, but of course to others in her religious and volunteer work. She was a shining example and enkindled within us this love for God. Thanks, Mom! Surviving are: two children George (Teresa) Fuller Brigham City; Linda (Ernest) Portillo Sacramento California; six grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and multiple nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Dale; brother Jim Lyons and her grandson David Fuller. A viewing will be held on Thursday evening March 2, 2017 from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. followed by Vigil and Rosary service at 6:00 p.m. at Gillies Funeral Chapel, 634 East 200 South, Brigham City, Utah. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, March 3, 2017 at St. Henry's Catholic Church; 380 South 200 East, Brigham City, Utah 84302. Interment will be in the Brigham City Cemetery Special thanks to Linda and Ernest and extended family, Mercy Hospice and Our Lady of Assumption Parrish in Sacramento, California for their extraordinary caring and support.
