Brigham City – Our loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister, aunt, mother-in-law and friend, Maria Corina Diaz de Guajardo, 82, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Thursday, December 29, 2016. She was born on March 26, 1934 in Lampazos de Naranjo Nuevo Leon, Mexico, a daughter of Francisco Diaz and Juanita Aleman. Corina married her sweetheart Ralfo Guajardo Cavazos on August 1, 1950 in Nuevo Laredo Tamaulipas, Mexico. He preceded her in death on September 17, 2005. Corina was a member of St. Henry's Catholic Church. She was very active at church with the Guadalupanas Group at St. Henry's, she also was in charge of the Church Breakfast, church functions, and would go visit sick members and people that were in need. She loved bingo, Wendover, cards, loteria, going out to eat, camping with her family and family gatherings. The family would like to thank all her family and friends for their prayers and support. Surviving are her nine children: Ralfo (Katie) Guajardo, Jr.; Rosa Maria (Gregorio) Santos; Diana Esther Guajardo; Juanita (Liborio) Mendez; Maria Teresa Macias (Rafael Garcia); Jose Ricardo (Marie) Guajardo; Raquel (Carlos) Guadarrama; Diana Laura Guajardo; Jose Alfredo (Miriam) Guajardo; 24 grandchildren, 55 great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren, three sisters, Adela Chapa; Minerva Nieto, and Olivia Hernandez. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sons, Alfredo Guajardo, Roberto Guajardo, and two brothers, Francisco Diaz, Jr. and Felix Recio Jr. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, January 6, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Henry's Catholic Church, 380 South 200 East, Brigham City, UT. Rosary will be said on Thursday, Jan. 5th at 5:00 p.m. and a viewing will follow from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Gillies Funeral Chapel, 634 East 200 South, Brigham City, Utah. Interment will be in the Brigham City Cemetery.
