CORINNE - Our beloved mother, Lilian Christiansen Bunderson, returned to our Heavenly Father on Wednesday, March 23, 2016, and was reunited with her eternal companion, Lloyd, whom she missed dearly. Lilian was born in Bergen, Norway, to Christian and Johanne Mjelde Christiansen on April 28, 1931, she was their only child. Lilian was a young girl at the time of WWII. Germany invaded Norway and she experienced great deprivation and feared the brutality of the German soldiers. Lilian did not like to tell of her childhood experiences for the bad memories it brought back. Lilian met Lloyd R. Bunderson while he was serving a LDS mission in Norway and it was love at first sight. She joined the LDS church and moved to Tremonton, Utah, and waited for Lloyd to return home. They were married June 16, 1953 in the Logan LDS Temple. They made their home in Corinne, Utah, and raised seven children. Lilian was an outstanding homemaker. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, canning, sewing and other hand-work, reading and genealogy. She also enjoyed rides through the mountain canyons and her trips with Lloyd, taking their trailer, to St. George during LDS Conference weekends and spending that time with Hugh & Julie W. Lilian was an associate member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. She served in the PTA for 21 years and served as local President, Council President and Regional Director. Lilian worked in Family History Extraction and served a LDS Mission with Lloyd to Norway during 1994-95. She served as a 4-H Leader, Cub Scout Leader, Ward Chorister, Relief Society Teacher, Visiting Teacher, Ogden LDS Temple Worker and other church callings. Lilian enjoyed going on luncheon outings with a group of her dear friends. Lilian is survived by her seven children Oleen (Jalene), Kenneth (DiAnn), Dan (Pam), Julie (Dave) Kay, Shaila (Max) Tavoian, Wendell (Penny), Eric (Monica); 25 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; one foster daughter Alvina (Willie) Begay. Lilian is preceded in death by her husband of 51 years and one grandson. Special thanks to family, friends, and all those who showed great love in spending time, helping and taking care of her. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 31, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Corinne LDS 2nd Ward Chapel, 2335 North 4000 West. Viewings will be held on Wednesday, Mar. 30th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Gillies Funeral Chapel, 634 East 200 South, Brigham City and on Thursday at the Corinne Church from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Tremonton/Riverside Cemetery.
