Brigham City- Our loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend, Julio Casarez, passed away on August 23, 2016 in Brigham City, Utah. Julio was born on February 16, 1946, to San Juana C. Munoz and Roy Casas in McAllen, Texas. Julio attended McAllen High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Army during High School and was deployed to Vietnam. He earned the Purple Heart Medal. Upon returning he married his sweetheart, Aurora Gutierrez, on August 26, 1966 in McAllen, Texas. Julio and Aurora moved to Utah in the 70’s where they settled in Brigham City and raised their family. Julio worked for Hercules (ATK) for 40 years. Julio enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting and above all he enjoyed spending time with his family. Julio is survived by his wife, four children; JR Martinez, Ruth Martinez, Maria Martinez, Ruben Martinez and Julio Casarez Jr.; thirteen grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; five siblings, Rosalie Olvera, Francesco D’Amico Jr., Ricky D’Amico, Roel A. Munoz Jr. and Octaviano Munoz. He was preceded in death by his mother, step father, Roel Munoz; grandparents, Pedro and Gregoria Casarez. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at St. Henry’s Catholic Church, 380 South 200 East, at 11:00 a.m. A viewing will be held Friday, August 26, 2016 from 5-7 p.m. at Gillies Funeral Chapel, 634 East 200 South. A rosary service will be held following the viewing at 7:00 p.m. Interment will be in the Brigham City Cemetery.
He will be missed deeply by all that knew him and all the memories we shared will never be forgotten. From,

Aurora y Familia : Lamento la partida temprana de Julio, espero puedan recibir el consuelo que nesecitan en estos momentos dificiles, en que la voluntad humana insuficiente ya que la verdadera tranquilidad se lograr mediante la ayuda de Dios el Padre y de su Hijo Jesucristo.
