Brigham City- Our loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, Henry Herbert Ricard Jr., passed away peacefully on September 7, 2016 at his home. Henry was born on September 4, 1942 to Marjorie Aliene Richardson and Henry Herbert Ricard Sr. in Natchitoches, Louisiana. At 1 ½ his father was killed in WWII over France. At the age of 5 his mother married Hugh Ford Hays who raised him as his own and was a wonderful father. He attended high school in Natchitoches at Denham Springs High School and graduated as valedictorian. Henry graduated from LSU with a Bachelor’s degree in Zoology. He later completed his MBA from the University of Phoenix. After graduating from LSU, he joined the US Navy and became a lieutenant on the USS General Weigel and worked as an engineer. After his discharge, Henry started working at Hughes Aircraft in Fullerton CA. He met the love of his life, Linda Margaret Yeager. They were married in April of 1973 in Anaheim CA. In 1974, Henry was baptized a member of the LDS church. They were then sealed in the Los Angeles LDS temple. They moved to Utah and raised their seven children while Henry worked at Thiokol as an engineer. Henry was a dedicated member of the Forest Hills LDS ward. He enjoyed flying airplanes, especially his Cessna, reading books, playing his trumpet for the LSU marching band, cooking Cajun food, and riding his Can-Am. Above all he enjoyed spending time with his family. Henry is survived by his wife, 6 children; Edward (Brook), Aimee (BJ) Wells, Molly (Ben) Leishman, David (Karli), Erin (Cortney) Gregory, Maranea (Adam) Johnson; 16 grandchildren with one on the way on New Year’s Day; 4 brothers; Hugh, Alan, George & Jeff Hays; 1 sister, Beverly Phillips. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Daniel. Memorial services will be held on Monday, September 12, 2016 at the Forest Hills Ward, 25 North 300 East, Brigham City, at 11:00 a.m. The family will greet people from 10:00-10:45 a.m. Military Honors will be accorded at the church following the services. A final memorial will be held at Camp Williams.

We are saddened to hear of Henry's passing. I had the chance of having him as a Home Teacher, and as a Home Teaching partner. I was always impressed with all he knew about life, and our Heavenly Father. He was a good man, and a good friend.
