BRIGHAM CITY/MANTUA – Sylvia Pulsipher Ward Knight, 90, graduated from this life on Thursday, 10 September 2015. She was born 3 August 1925 in Brigham City, Utah to goodly parents, Wallace Wight and Amelia LaBlanche Mortensen Pulsipher. At the age of 11 she moved to Mantua. She graduated from Box Elder High School in 1943. She married Roy Nathaniel Ward from Arkansas 5 March 1943. He was her first convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Their marriage was solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple on 5 March 1945. They served a two year North Weber Stake Mission together and did lots of family research and temple work. Roy preceded her in death 21 January 1962. Six months later she was called to serve in the Northern States Mission with Headquarters in Chicago for 18 months. This was one of the greatest joys of her life. Served from August 1962 to March 1964. She married William Floyd Knight in Ogden, Utah, 14 November 1964. They lived in Almo, Idaho for 20 years, then moved to Mantua, Utah in 1984. Floyd passed away 29 December 1993. She has been a very active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints all of her life, serving in Primary, Sunday School, MIA, Relief Society President for six years in Almo, Stake Spiritual Living Teacher, visiting teacher and served as an ordinance worker in the Ogden LDS Temple for 16 years. One of their greatest blessings in life has been their beautiful adopted missionary family, started in July 1975 and coming to them from all over the world. She reached her goal of supporting over 100 missionaries. She was preceded in death by her parents, two beloved husbands, one sister, Ruth Nelson, seven step sisters, four step brothers, three beloved step sons and one adopted missionary son, and two step grandsons. She is survived by one sister, Marian (Bob) Hope of Brigham City, many step grandchildren and great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and their beloved adopted missionary sons and daughters and over 100 adopted grandchildren from their missionaries. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, 19 September 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Brigham City LDS 8th Ward Chapel, 139 East 300 North. Viewings will be held on Friday, 18 Sept. 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Gillies Funeral Chapel, 634 East 200 South, Brigham City, Utah and at the church on Saturday, 19 September 2015 from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. Interment will be in the Brigham City Cemetery.
What a sweet lady! We will always remember her and her testimony. We will be in California this weekend with Stephanie and her family. Love you.

I am so sorry to hear about Sylvia!! She was such a wonderful woman and I am so grateful for the great example she was to me! I am sorry I will not be at the funeral but I just had foot surgery! My prayers and thoughts are with you!
