Sandra Rosella Vicars, born September 22, 1942 in Brigham City, Utah to Robert Matthew Vicars and Winnie Lee Bailey. She passed away Thursday, June 11, 2015 in the comfort of her home with her many loved ones surrounding her. Sandy loved her childhood and has many memories of living in Morgan with her family, fishing trips to Spirit Lake with her Daddy and the many adventures with her beloved cousins. Sandy loved her family more than anything and could tell you hours of stories. The family lived in Morgan Utah, which remained a piece of her heart her whole life. The family returned to Brigham City in 1954. She graduated from Box Elder High School and LDS Seminary in 1960. Sandy was proud to be a Box Elder “Bee”, and cherished the lifelong friendships she gained there. She will forever be a member of the “Two Bit Clique”. Sandy was a simple person but passionate in what she loved. Her family meant everything to her. Although she never married or had children of her own, she was very blessed and her family was very blessed to have her unconditional love. She loved telling stories from the past and her childhood. She was our family “Scribe”. And we are so blessed for the time and effort she put in throughout her life taking pictures and writing the story of our family. Sandy was a very talented person. She was a professional cake maker and baker. Many family members are fortunate to have some of her paintings hanging in our homes. In her younger years, Sandy worked at the Tropical Cafe in Brigham City. Along with her parents she owned and operated “Sandy’s Cafe” in Tremonton, Utah. After the death of her father she owned and ran the “Sugar Shack” in Brigham City. After the Sugar Shack closed she went to work at the cafeteria at Thiokol, where she enjoyed many years and made lasting friendships. Sandy was the illustrator for seven cook books and her favorite comment was “Cook with love it’s the only missing ingredient”. She is survived by 3 sisters, Wendy Ravsten, Judy Apodaca, and Bonnie Roper. A very special great niece Bryanne Rose Ashley. She is also survived by many nieces & nephews and special cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Richard John (Theola) Vicars, William Robert (Gerry) Vicars, Grandparents Pope & Lou Merchant Bailey and Robert and Maud Bowcutt Vicars- Morgan. As a family we would like to give thanks to McKay Dee and LDS Hospitals, Willow Glen Care Center, (Cleo) and Hospice workers Wendy & Brenda and Dr. Markeson. We also want to thank Sandy’s sister’s Judy & Wendy and niece Jody Duncombe for making sure Sandy never spent a night alone and for their love and tender care of our Aunt Sandy. “God Be With You, Till We Meet Again”. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Gillies Funeral Chapel, 634 East 200 South, Brigham City, UT. Sandy will be laid to rest next to her “Mamma & Daddy” in the Brigham City Cemetery.
