"Together Again"

BRIGHAM CITY- Our loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, Robert W. Coleman, passed away Thursday, October 1, 2015. Bob was born on January 3, 1931 in Philadelphia Pennsylvania, to Dr. Ernest H. Coleman and Phyllis A. Wallauer. Bob spent his childhood in State College, PA where he was educated. He served in the Navy during the Korean War. During the Navy he received much of his formal electronics training. Bob witnessed the hydrogen bomb tests in the Bikini Islands, and received an honorable discharge. Bob married his high school sweetheart, Mary E Decker, on Christmas Eve 1951. They had three children, Wayne Steven (Joelene) Coleman, Linda Suzanne (Rob) Pretti, Diane Elaine (Greg) Brown. Bob worked at Convair in San Diego, CA before taking a job with Thiokol. He retired from there after working for 30 years. Bob was an active member of Box Elder County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue where he was a lifetime member. After retiring, Bob helped many friends with their computer problems, and loved every minute of it. He loved the out of doors, traveling in the RV with Mary and taking care of “his kitties”. The family loved camping, hunting, fishing, exploring and rock hounding, where Bob was a member of the Thiokol rock and mineral club. Bob and Mary had many memorable trips with close family friends over the years. He was a very talented man. He loved working with his hands. There was nothing that he couldn’t build or fix. Survived by his three children; Brother; Roger L (Gitte) Coleman, Sister in law; Ann Louise (Paul) Heberling; 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; 9 nephews and nieces. Preceded in death by his wife, parents, and two brothers, Ernest Jr. and Philip. The family wishes to thank the dear friends and neighbors that have given their love and support of our parents during the last six months. Special thanks to the William’s, Anderson’s, and Hannum’s. A graveside service will be held on October 24, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. in the Memorial Grove at the Brigham City Cemetery, where military honors will be accorded. Followed by A Celebration of Life at Gillespie Hall from Noon to 2:00 p.m. Bring your stories to share. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Gillies Funeral Chapel for the Box Elder County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue.
