Richard Rey Holt
June 6, 1941 ~ July 18, 2015
GARLAND – Our loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Richard Rey Holt, 74, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 18, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family in Garland, Utah. His love for life, helping hands and quiet selfless service to others will be missed. He was known for his practical jokes and was well versed in sarcasm. Richard overcame many obstacles in his life and he fought his illness until the end. He was born on June 6, 1941 in Salt Lake City, Utah, a son of Jess C. and Edwardean Rowley Holt. He attended Box Elder High School and graduated from Journeyman Plumbing School. He married France Ruth Tommaney in August of 1958 in Nevada. They were later divorced. He married Karen Estell Mann on July 16, 1988 in Brigham City, Utah. Richard was the owner of Holt Plumbing and later worked for Standard Plumbing. He also spent many years as a member of the Brigham City Volunteer Fire Dept. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Richard enjoyed going to Wendover and Mesquite, watching sports and O’Reilly, working in his garden and being with his family and grandchildren. The family would like to thank Dr. Dawson, Kaylee, Nichole and Debbie from Integrity Hospice, and Dr. Vincent Hansen. Surviving is his wife, Karen; four children: Debbie (Terry) Forsgren; David Holt; Troy (Angie) Aramburu; Shandis (Cody) Harris; 8 grandchildren, Alexis, Austin, Taylor, Richie, Tony, Jesse, Wyatt and Weston. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Danny Holt, and his former wife, Frances T. Holt. Richard wanted to be cremated and no formal services to be held.
We wish to extend our sincere condolences to the family. I had the pleasure of knowing and working with Richard and he was a very knowledgable man in the plumbing business and know he will be missed. May God give you peace & comfort at this time.

Sorry to hear about the death of my long time friend Richard. We were classmates, worked together and played together in the 50's and 60's. Memories Forever.
Dear Karen and family,
I'm sending my love to you in your time of mourning the passing of your dear Ricahrd. He was a great cousin. The Culbertson Girls thought Richard was handsome and we loved visiting him. He was shy and sweet with a smile that made you think he was up to something and knew lots more than we did. I hope your happy memories will sustain you while your hearts heal. My prayers are with all of you.
Dear Debbie and Karen and Family,
Loron and I are very sorry to learn of Richard's passing and just want you to know we're thinking of you and praying for your comfort and peace at this time. We know our family relationships are eternal and hope you can let that knowledge shine through your tears.
