Interment: Orem City Cemetery at 2:30 p.m.
BRIGHAM CITY – Our loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Rena Beverly Smith, 64, passed away peacefully of breast cancer on Friday, January 30, 2015 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on January 13, 1951 in Juneau, Alaska, a daughter of Fred Herman and Mona Byrle Osborne Martin. Later her mother married Stan Perry and he became her father. She graduated from Juneau Douglas High School, Mary Kawakami School of Beauty and had attended BYU. Rena was married previously to Thomas Harold Nelson and Howard F. Warren in Juneau, Alaska. Rena married David John Smith on June 25, 1976 in Provo, Utah. Their marriage being solemnized in the Provo LDS Temple in 1980. He preceded her in death on September 2, 2012. She was an active member of the Brigham City LDS 5th Ward. Surviving are Dave's children, Keith Smith; Shelley (Dave) Lemmings; Daniel (Renae) Smith; Rena's children: Denise Nelson; Shannon Warren; Dave and Rena's children: Devin (Zenna) Smith; Mandy (Gary) Hoffman; Blake Smith (Deceased); Jill (Brady) Baxter; 28 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; siblings, Julie Johnson, Paul Martin (Deceased); James Martin (Deceased); Christy Blair and Deborah Haraga. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Feb. 5th, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Brigham City LDS 5th Ward Chapel, 420 South 800 West. Viewings will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 4th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Gillies Funeral Chapel, 634 East 200 South, Brigham City, UT and at the church on Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Orem City Cemetery at 2:30 p.m.
May our Father who is in heaven, be with your family at this difficult time. I will be forever grateful to have had the previledge to call her my friend and my daughter's other mother, she welcomed and loved her as her own. She always had such a beautiful smile for everyone but specially when things were not so good for her and trials were upon her. I love you Rena, we shall see each other again I'm certain of that.

I was so sad to hear of Renas passing. One of the special friends i had, she bowled on my team for years, permed my hair for years she was a special lady. She is happy now and with her sweetheart. I will hope to see her where she is now. I love you Rena and your family.
