Patricia Eugene Vandergriff Walker returned to heaven on April 10, 2015 from complications related to Alzheimer’s Disease. She was born on September 23, 1934 to Jesse Vandergriff and Willie Elizabeth Whitley in Chillicothe, Texas. In her early years, she lived on a share-crop farm raising wheat and cotton, among other things. Her parents divorced while she was still an infant. When she was 5 years old, her family moved to Holbrook, Arizona where she spent her early school years. Her mother later married Dennis Lane Smithson, who raised her and her step-siblings. She played the bugle and performed in the Drum Corp in high school. She enjoyed singing in the choir as well. She received many awards for her Poetry and loved to write. Pat also transcribed letters on the Dictaphone for a telephone company. She was converted and baptized to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints when she was sixteen years old and became very passionate about the Gospel. She attended college at Arizona State University where she met the love of her life, Larry Rollins Walker, in a Single’s Ward Sacrament Meeting. After a few months of courtship, they decided that they couldn’t live without each other and were married on April 30, 1955. They made their home in Lyman, WY where Larry was a Rancher. There they raised 5 beautiful children. They later were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. During her life, Pat was very musically talented. She was a member of two different musical groups, as well as played the organ and piano. She loved hymns and the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. She was very passionate about the church, where she served many callings and served a mission in England. She also spent a lot of her time in the Genealogy center where she found much interest in her heritage and ancestors. Pat loved her grandchildren. She played cards and held tea parties and picnics for them. She shared her love of classic movies with them as well. She is preceded in death by her husband Larry Rollins Walker, her Mother Willie Elizabeth Smithson, her father Jesse Dowel Vandergriff, her step-father Dennis Lane Smithson and her brother Dennis Elton Smithson. She is survived by her sister Lorena Shuree Marvin, her brother Willard Jay Smithson, her 5 children, Timilee Wilber (Ronald), Cindy Winkler (Rick), Ned Walker (Melanie), Rex Walker (Shawney), and Ted Walker. She is also survived by her 24 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her best friend of 60 years, Glenna Foianini. She will be missed so much, but we are so grateful for the sweet spirit she was and for the unending love she had for her family. Her family would like to thank the Willow Glenn Nursing Home in Brigham City, UT for taking such good care of her over the years and also to her hospice nurse, Lori Gillies from Encompass Hospice. We are so grateful for your love and kindness to this beloved woman in our lives. Services will be held at the Urie Stake Center in Urie, WY on April 18, 2015. The viewing will be held at 10:30 in the morning with the funeral to follow at Noon. Following the services, there will be a graveside service at the Lyman Cemetery, with a luncheon to follow.
May God bless your family at this time. Pat was an important part of the Bridger valley.

We are so sorry for your loss. I thought a lot of your mother. She was a very lovely lady and I enjoyed my association with her. We appreciated all of Ted's help during Charlie's illness. Our thoughts are with you at this difficult time.
