BRIGHAM CITY – Matthew Joel Archibald, 29, passed away at his home on January 18, 2015. Matt was born on March 27, 1985 in Brigham City, Utah, the middle son of Curtis B and Sheila Singleton Archibald. As a kid growing up he enjoyed football and soccer. He also enjoyed fishing, golfing and four wheeling with his dad, brothers and grandpa Singleton. Matt went to Box Elder High School where he was a member of the soccer team. He later moved to Horseheads, New York, where he graduated from Horseheads High School in 2003. He then attended Corning Community College where he was on their soccer team. Following his time in New York, he moved back to Brigham City in 2005 and met his future wife. Matt and Breanne Hansen were married on July 19, 2008 in Perry, Utah. They had a son, Ryken Curtis and a daughter, Jaiden Skye who were the apple of his eye. They loved their daddy very much and will miss him. Matt worked at Nucor Building Systems in Brigham City as an iron worker. He enjoyed hunting "only waterfowl" with his brothers and friends. He also loved to tinker and work on trucks with his friends. Matt had a flare for his style and the way he dressed. He was a loving, caring friend who had a contagious personality and will be deeply missed by all that knew him. In lieu of flowers, there is a charitable account that has been setup in Ryken and Jaiden's name at Wells Fargo Bank. Surviving are his wife, Breanne, his two beautiful children, Ryken and Jaiden; his parents, Curtis and Sheila Archibald; two of the best brothers, Casey and Brad Archibald and Matt's awesome sister-in-law, Erica Archibald; his grandparents, Rex Wayne and Linda Singleton; Spencer and Janice Archibald and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at 12 Noon at Gillies Funeral Chapel, 634 East 200 South, Brigham City. A viewing will be held on Friday, Jan. 23rd from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral chapel. There will be no viewing on Saturday. Interment will be in the Brigham City Cemetery.
I love you Breanne! I have nothing but great memories with you. Seriously, I was laughing today thinking about my childhood with you. I hate to know that you are in any pain and want you to know that I am rooting for you.
I couldn't have asked for a better friend than matt. Him and I have been friends since kindergarten. I have so many good memories of him that i will always hold dear to my heart. I hope that you and your family may find peace. I will always love you brother.
We will never forget the good times and fun we shared with matt. He was always there for anyone, and often times just his warm smile was all anyone needed. Our deepest sympathies are with your family at this difficult time as well as our continuous thoughts and prayers.

Breanne, you are a strong, vibrant woman. So sorry to hear about your loss. Keep your head held high, stay strong and true to yourself, as you always have been. My thoughts and prayers go out to you, your kids and the Archibald family.
Matt was one of the sweetest men I have ever met. I met him when I met my husband (Bryce Billingsley) and from then on we had a friendship not like many others, it didn't matter if it had been two weeks or three years since we saw each other it was always the same when we all got together. It absolutely breaks my heart that he is gone, but I will forever hold our memories in my heart! I love ya matt!!!
To Curtis and Sheila, words simply cannot express my sincere condolences to both of you and the rest of the family. May the memories of your son be a comfort to you at this unimaginable difficult time. Take care.
