Logan, Utah- Juanita Johnson Rigby, 82, passed away Monday, July 13, 2015. Juanita was born September 17, 1932 to Hyrum Alton Johnson and Lucy LaVerl Fox Johnson in Jerome, Idaho. Juanita graduated from Jerome High School and attended Steven-Henager College in Salt Lake City where she met Kyle Lamond Rigby. After a short courtship they were married in the Manti LDS Temple on March 9, 1951. They lived two years in Olathe, Kansas while Kyle served in the Air Force, then moved to Kearns, Utah. Later they moved to Jerome, Idaho and in 1965 they moved to Brigham and raised their 5 children. Juanita was a very talented, kind, thoughtful, loving person. She enjoyed singing with her sisters, drawing, painting, writing, poetry and sewing. Juanita loved her Heavenly Father and had a strong testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. She had many callings in the LDS church but especially loved serving in the Young Women’s program. Juanita was a wonderful teacher and influenced many. Juanita is survived by her 5 children: Deanne Peter of Dayton, OH, Karin Allen (Kendall) of Smithfield, UT, Julie Orgill (Wade) of Brigham City, UT, Kurt Rigby (Kathy) of Las Vegas, NV, and Janet Barlow (Joseph) of Salt Lake City; 24 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Kyle and son-in-law, Bill Peter. Her funeral service will be held, Monday, July 20, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Gillies Funeral Chapel, 634 East 200 South, Brigham Utah, with a viewing held prior that morning from 10:00-10:45 a.m. Interment will be in the Brigham City Cemetery.

So sorry to hear about the loss of your mom. I have great memories of your family living in Jerome. I hope the knowledge of eternal families make the pain of your loss less.

I was so sad to hear of the loss of your sweet mother. It has always been a honor to have known and worked with most of you throughout my life. It is a wonderful blessing to have the gospel in our lives and to know the plan of happiness that is available to all. I know that we will all be together again.
