BRIGHAM CITY – Our loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend, Jose Jesus "Chuy" Reyes Perales, 72, passed away on Saturday, February 14, 2015 at McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah with his family surrounding him. He was born on February 15, 1942 in Cerritos, San Luis Potosi, Mexico, a son of Nicolas and Lucia Reyes Perales. Chuy married his sweetheart, Bertha Florez Gomez on September 14, 1973 in Edinburg, Texas. He was an active member of St. Henry's Catholic Church in Brigham City, Utah. Chuy had worked at the U & I Sugar Factory in Garland, Utah and retired from Kelly Farms in Layton, Utah. After retiring he did seasonal work for John Valcarce and Sumida's Farms. Chuy loved spending time with his sweetheart, his kids and watching his grandchildren activities. He also loved to work on cars and everyday maintenance of their homes. He lived for his family. Surviving are his wife, Bertha; seven children, Sanjana Salinas; Catarina (Jim) Gonzales; Cecilio Ramos; Louisa (Rick) Gonzales; Alberto (Lillian) Florez; Christina (Joseph) Salazar; Nick (Jennifer) Reyes; 20 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren; one brother; Salvador Reyes; five sisters, Mercedes Tapia; Carmen Castilleja; Maria Reyes; Guadalupe Marin; Marina Reyes and Estelle Ortiz. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter Amalia Reyes, one great grandson; his twin sister, Amparo Reyes; sister, Santana Rodriguez and one brother, Candelario Reyes. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 20, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Henry's Catholic Church, 380 South 200 East, Brigham City, Utah. A viewing will be held on Thursday, Feb. 19th from 6:00 to 7:25 p.m. with a Vigil Service to begin and 7:30 p.m. at Gillies Funeral Chapel, 634 East 200 South, Brigham City, Utah. Interment will be in the Brigham City Cemetery.
