TRENTON- Our loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend, Gary Lee Jensen, 85, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family from natural causes at his home in Trenton on Monday, July 27, 2015. He was born on May 16, 1930 in Richmond, Utah, a son of J. Franklin and Grace Elizabeth Netcher Jensen. He graduated North Cache High School. He served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. Gary married Naomi Miller on August 7, 1954 in Logan, Utah. From this union they had four children, Jerry Dee, Amy Lee, Emily, and Kathleen. They were later divorced. Gary married Florene Westmoreland Ross on June 24, 1980 in the Logan LDS Temple. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he was a high priest, home teacher, and ball coach. Gary worked for Lundahl-Hesston, Wilson Motor, and Union Pacific Railroad as a mechanic. He was an avid supporter for the Smithfield Blue Sox Baseball Team. Gary enjoyed tying flies, fly fishing, gardening, baseball, camping, hunting, and boxing. He also liked helping neighbors, and loved being with his family. Surviving are his wife, Florene, Trenton; children and step children: Jerry Dee (Cheri) Jensen, Logan; Amy Lee (Bob O.) Bosworth, Weston, ID; Emily Rydalch, Smithfield; Kathleen (Tom Carter), Trenton; Glenna Hugie, Tremonton; Eugene (Kris) Ross, St George; George (Dot) Ross, Corinne; Grace Ross, Brigham City; Edna Totter, Brigham City; Frank (Patty) Ross, Logan; Shirlee Ross, Brigham City; 36 grandchildren, and 71 great grandchildren with more coming. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son-in-law, Nowell Rydalch, one step daughter, Gloria Wixom, two step sons-in-law, Frank Totter, and Lynn Wixom; three brothers, Frankie, Cliff, Dale, and one sister, Faye. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2015 at 12 Noon at the Cornish Trenton LDS Chapel, 1200 North 400 West, Trenton, Utah followed by a luncheon. A viewing will be held on Saturday at the church from 10:00 a.m. to 11:40 a.m. and Interment will be in the Smithfield Cemetery at 3:00, where military honors will be accorded by the Combined Box Elder County Honor Guard.
