Eric Douglas Lee passed away on Friday, September 11, 2015, in Payson, AZ after losing a valiant battle with cancer. He was born on April 23, 1947 in Brigham City UT, the second son of Morris K. Lee and Oreta P. Hawks. He was raised in Brigham City and graduated from Box Elder High School in 1965, then attended Weber State College and graduated with a Mathematics degree. He married Mary Jane Lemon and with this marriage they had two sons. Then they were divorced. Doug married his sweetheart, Elisabeth Shields in 1979. After College, Doug enlisted in the US Air Force and served as a pilot, where he learned to love flying. This love of flying led to a lifelong career in aviation. He flew as a bush pilot in Alaska for Ketchum Air Service, then went on to fly C-84s, DC-6s, and 727s for Northern Air Cargo. Doug also became a consultant and pilot for the Flying Bulls, an affiliate of Red Bull, in Austria, and certified a beautifully restored DC-6. Throughout Doug’s life, his flying career took him to many parts of the world where he made lifelong friends. In addition to aviation, Doug was a passionate outdoorsman and loved hunting and fishing in Alaska and other parts of the country. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ducks Unlimited, phone 901.758.3986 in loving memory of Eric Douglas Lee. Surviving are his loving wife, Elisabeth (Shields) Lee, two sons from a previous marriage; Craig (Karen) Lee, Anchorage AK, Ronald (Chalice) Gustaveson, Ogden UT, and three step-children; Anne (Mark) Knight, Anchorage AK, Andrew Engstrom, Juneau AK, and Jennifer (Ken) Alexander, Anchorage AK; nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren; three siblings; Jerry A (Audreen) Morris, Centerville UT, Janet M (Lee) Williams, Brigham City UT, and Charles K (Bonnie) Lee, Lincoln CA. Dear Lis and Family,
Sarah and I were saddened to read of Doug's passing. I always enjoyed the pre-business chats when Doug and you came to the office. I still have the NAC cap Doug gave me. I remember walking out to the truck to get it. Most of all, I remember Doug's easy going demeanor as we dealt with serious matters. Please accept our condolences.

Doug was an exceptional friend. We flew together for NAC. His memory will always be with me. I am so sorry for this great loss of a great friend.
To the man with the smile to light up any room you will be missed. Our prayers go to the family as they travel this difficult road. God Bless you all.

To Liz and Doug' s family,
I am thinking of you all and smiling as I remember Doug' s epic journey to Guatemala to visit Grady and I in 1980. Taking a day or two to find us and saying, when it was time to leave, "well I guess Ill go home and see if Liz has learned any new tricks" . Though far away, no distance at all in our hearts.
I was so sorry to read of your husband's passing in the Anchorage paper. It's been many years, but my love and best to you and the kids. I'm still in Anchorage and would love to hear from you.
