Curtis Larsen Johnson, 95, loving father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend passed away peacefully February 8, 2015. Curtis was born on January 31, 1920 to George Wallace and Lucy Christina Larsen Johnson in Brigham City, Utah. Curtis graduated from Box Elder High School and attended college at Weber State. On May 6, 1941 he married his sweetheart, Tess Edna Burt. Curtis served in the United States Navy during WWII. Curtis was an active member of the LDS Church. He was the Deacon's quorum advisor for many years, he was also scout master, stake clerk and High Councilman. He served a mission at the Bishops Store House. He worked for the Great Salt Lake Mineral and Chemical as an operator. He also worked 20 years for Fife Rock Products. Curtis enjoyed hunting, hiking, horse back riding, wood working, gardening, farming, reading and being with his family. Curtis is survived by his seven children, Larry Curtis (Marsha) Johnson, Sandy; Rowena Wood, Perry; Kent Burt (Karen) Johnson, Idaho Falls; Wallace Neal (Kim) Johnson, Perry; Dale Burt (Evelyn) Johnson, Perry; Chad Burt (Michele) Johnson, Brigham City; Holly (Merlin) Pacheco, Brigham City; 44 grandchildren, 93 great grandchildren with 4 on the way; 7 great-great grandchildren with 1 on the way. He was preceded in death by his wife, two daughters, Elna Kay and Beverly Johnson; Son-in-law Clif Wood; one grandson, Jason Felix Pacheco, one granddaughter Stephanie Lynn Hunter Johnson; his parents and siblings. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 16, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Perry 3rd Ward Chapel, 1308 West 2950 South, Perry Utah. A viewing will be held on Sunday, February 15, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Gillies Funeral Chapel, 634 East 200 South, Brigham City and on Monday at the church from 10:00 to 10:40 a.m.
We are saddened to hear of your dads passing but know of the great reunion he is having with your mom and others that went before him. Know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.
