Carol "Linda" Hall Petersen
September 26, 1949 ~ December 16, 2015
Carol "Linda" Hall Petersen, 66, of Brigham City, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2015 at Intermountain Healthcare in Murray after a short, but courageous battle with brain cancer. Linda valiantly fought other medical conditions for a very long time. Linda was born September 26, 1949 to Carol Hall and Bernice Iverson. She was the youngest of four daughters. She was raised in both Bear River City and Brigham City. She graduated from Box Elder High School in 1968 and was very proud to be Alumni. She used to sing the school song all the time. She met Evan Petersen during their childhood years and they were married in 1980. Her love was unconditional. In her youth, Linda was very talented in softball and could crush a ball over the fence every time! She coached softball for years and always led her team to the championship. She loved coaching those girls! She was very close to God and taught others the importance of having him in your life. She loved her dog "Abby" very much and was her companion for 19 years. She too went to the gates of heaven 3 weeks ago. Linda loved going fishing and spending time in the mountains. She enjoyed gardening and working in the yard. Her love of nature will bloom forever. She loved to bake and the love she put into each recipe made it magical. Her recipes will live on forever. She enjoyed going for drives especially to Malad and Portage. Linda had such a strong passion for music and always said that it could heal the soul. She loved James Taylor, The Carpenters, and Carly Simon. She said that music was the best motivator in life and that it could take you anywhere. She loved celebrating the holidays especially Christmas and Easter. Linda could talk to anyone and that person would be her friend in less than a minute. She had such a loving nature and one hell of a personality. She loved her children and grandchildren more than anything in the world. She put up a fight that no one else could even handle. She was loved by everyone. Linda is survived by her husband, Evan Petersen, Twin Falls, ID; sisters, Carleen Jelesnik, Salt Lake City, UT; Janet (Sam) Evans, Layton, UT; Vonda Smith, Brigham City, UT; son, Lindsay Petersen, Twin Falls, ID; daughters, Debby (Bill) Peot, Las Vegas, NV; Kami Michelli, Twin Falls, ID; Mamie Petersen, Twin Falls, ID; 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Linda was very close to her grand-daughters Danni Lynn and Harmony Adair. A celebration of life will be held in the spring in Bear River City, UT. The family extends a special thanks to all of the doctors and medical staff that has ever helped mom in her journey. She was very fond of everyone at the U of U hospital.
So let your heart sweetheart be your
compass when you're lost
And you should follow it wherever it may go
When it's all said and done you can walk
instead of run
'Cause no matter what you'll never be alone
Never be alone
Never be alone
