Brigham City- Our loving mother, aunt, and friend, Amaryllis “Billie” Gray, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 2, 2015. Billie was born on January 6, 1928, to Cora Adella Terpenning and Mason Bernard Gaither in Buffalo Wyoming. Just 16 months after Billie and her twin sister Phyllis were born their father came down with Hodgkins disease. The only memories the twins had of their father were recollections from their mother, brothers and older sister. Billie’s early childhood years were spent on a ranch in Kaycee Wyoming were the family home resided. After several years of trying to make a go of it with the ranch, Billies mother decided to sell the ranch and move to Provo Utah where Billie attended Provo High School and graduated that spring of 1945. After High School, Billie attended BYU where she met Earl Lloyd Gray. They married on June 4, 1948 and a year later were sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple by Apostle Harold B Lee. After Earl graduated, from BYU, they moved to Washington State so Earl could pursue his PhD. Earl was offered a job at Convair in Fort Worth, Texas. Soon after moving to Texas Billie and Earl were blessed with Pamela and later on Bryan. In 1958 the family relocated back to Brigham City. In 1959 they received an early Christmas present with “Baby Brent.” Billie worked as a secretary for R Dean Udy Connecticut Mutual, Mayor’s secretary for 13 years then transferred to Public Works. She was awarded employee of the year in 1981. Billie retired with 18 years of service for Brigham City. Billie is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day saints. She served in many callings, Relief Society secretary, chorister, Ward historian, and librarian. Billie is survived by her children, daughter Pamela (Tony) Hodges, and two sons Bryan (Linda) and Brent (Jill); 3 grandchildren Ashley, Trekker & Jamie; 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Una Stiles; twin sister, Phyllis Alvery; brothers, Steve, Eldon, Cecil, Gaither; daughter in law, Jan Gray. A special thank you to Dr. Lynn Beard for the many years of special care provided to our parents, Integrity Home Health Care, Maple Springs, and Willow Glen. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at the Brigham City LDS 8th Ward, 139 East 300 North at 12:00 p.m. A viewing will be held on Tuesday at the church prior to the service from 11:00-11:45 a.m. Interment will be in the Brigham City Cemetery.
