1924 - 2014

Our dear mother and grandmother, passed away at home on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 surrounded by her family. Yuki spent most of her life in Box Elder County, growing up on a farm and then continuing farm life with her husband and children. In addition to working many years growing crops on the family farm, she worked at several jobs including Safeway and Thiokol. Her talents were unlimited and ranged from casting, firing and painting ceramic dolls to oil painting landscapes and wildlife. There was not a form of needlework she could not master, but was most known for her beautiful hand sewn quilts and spreads and quilted wall hangings. She enjoyed traveling with family and friends, fishing, golf, volunteering, movies, quilting with friends and daughters and always supporting grandchildren’s activities. She also made the best rolls and home-made jams and pickles. An avid reader, she could polish off a book in a few nights. Survived by sister Kouko Shibata; children David (Pam), Karen (Dale Whitney), Evelyn (Rod Spackman), Lisa, John; 8 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by husband Wallace; son Michael; brothers Joe, Harry, Saburo, and George; and sisters Hatsuko, Teruko, and Kazuko Special thanks to the staff at CareSource for the loving care shown to Yuki. We’ll miss you so much Mom! Graveside services will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Garland Cemetery, Garland, Ut.
