Our loving mom, grandma, great grandma, sister, aunt and friend, Sandra L. Smith, went home to be with Jesus on Sunday, April 6, 2014. Her heart disease that she had overcome so courageously finally was too much. She was born on June 20,1940 in Brigham City, Utah, a daughter of Edward Andrew and Louise Burns Nielsen. Sandra graduated from Bear River High School in 1958 and attended Utah State University. She married William Forrest Smith in October 1967. He preceded her in death on February 10, 1999. Sandra married Dave J. Larsen in March 2002. He preceded her in death on March 18, 2013. Her pastimes were golfing, playing bridge, hanging at the Rose’s with all her friends, and sitting down and encouraging anyone that might need a friend. She was an awesome athlete, she played competitive softball until her demands as a mom took over and she used this ability to work with her kids. Her legacy was her family and being a great teacher and example in knowing the Lord. She was our angel on earth and now in heaven. She was the proudest mom and grandma in the world. The family would like to thank University of Utah Medical Staff for their loving care to Sandra. Surviving are Tony, Vanessa, Nico, and Jaxon; Nick, Lindsay, Tyson, Alex, Zack, Carson, Morgan, Braxton and Addi; Brad, Tonia, Greyson, and Maddie; Melinda, Matt, Aria, Saxton, and Savannah; Extended family, one sister, Anna M. Anderson, Analee, Mike, Jeff, Travis, Zach and Danette. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Wally Nielsen and two sisters, DeDe Taylor and Evelyn Johnson.
