BRIGHAM CITY – Our loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend, Donald J. Callaway, 84, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 19, 2014 of natural causes. He was born on August 4, 1930 in Chicago, Illinois the son of Clarence Weston and Eva Klopfer Callaway. He graduated from Perry Trade Institute in Yakima, Washington in 1957 with an electronic degree. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. Upon returning from the armed services he married his sweetheart, Donna Rae Schneider on December 14, 1957 in Yakima, Washington, just celebrating 57 years of marriage. Don and Donna moved their family to Brigham City in July of 1959, where he worked for Thiokol and retired in 1992. He was a member of the Community First Presbyterian Church for many years and sang in the choir. In later years, he was an Elder at Living Hope Fellowship. Don enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, singing and being with his family. He also loved watching his grandchildren play their sports and supporting them in everything they did. Surviving is his wife, Donna of Perry; three sons, Don W. (Dianna) Callaway of Old Hickory, TN; Doug A. (Lisa) Callaway and Darren L. (Jennifer) Callaway both of Brigham City; 10 grandchildren, 5.5 great grandchildren and one brother, Jerry (Donna Kay) Callaway of Crete, IL. A family memorial will take place at a later date.
I enjoyed car pooling and working for Don at Thiokol. He will be greatly missed.
