Graveside services: Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Bear River City Cemetery
ARIZONA – Our loving father, grandfather, uncle and friend, Carlyle J Gardner, 90, passed away on Saturday, March 22, 2014 in Mesa, Arizona. He was born on August 23, 1923 in Bear River City, Utah, a son of George Alma and Cleofa Charlotte Jensen Gardner. He graduated from Box Elder High School in 1941. Carlyle joined the US Army Air Corp in 1943 during World War II and was discharged on October 25, 1945. He was a Prisoner of War in Germany for about a year. He was awarded the Purple Heart on March 30, 2012. He married his sweetheart, Audrae Anderson on December 21, 1946 in Minnesota. He graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1952. Surviving are his three children, Steve Gardner, Kim Gardner and Pat Jim Robinson) Gardner, two grandchildren, Samantha and Christian. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Audrae, three siblings, Lorna Davis, Darrell and Shiryl “Sog” Anderson. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Bear River City Cemetery, where military honors will be accorded.
