WILLARD – Our loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, Bernell Edwin Wetzel, 80, passed away on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on July 30, 1933 in Tuttle, North Dakota, a son of Henry and Elsie Frey Wetzel. Bernell married his sweetheart, Ramona Permann on August 28, 1951 in America Falls, Idaho. He retired from Hill Air Force Base in 1987, where he was a planning engineer. He also worked with South Willard Water Company for 30 years. Bernell enjoyed building model airplanes, fixed everything, remodeling, mechanic, snowmobiling, camping and boating. He loved being with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Surviving is his wife, Ramona; five children: Lela (David) Ross, Brigham City; Gary (Janice) Wetzel, Willard; Joyce (Terry) Pritchard, Willard; David Wetzel, Brigham City; Dawn (Dave) Scothern, Willard: 16 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, two great great-grandchildren and one brother, Vernon (Dorothy) Wetzel, Boise, ID. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Linda Kay, granddaughter Joni Pritchard, one brother Reinhold Wetzel and two sisters, Viola and Lulla Wetzel. The family would like to thank Integrity Home Health and Hospice for all their support and kindness they provided to the family. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Gillies Funeral Chapel, 634 East 200 South, Brigham City. Viewings will be held on Monday, May 26 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm and on Tuesday from 10:00 to 10:40 am at the funeral chapel. Interment will be in the Willard City Cemetery.
