BRIGHAM CITY – Our loving mother, nanna, and friend, Barbara Annie Adams, 81, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at her son’s home in Layton. She was born on November 7, 1932 in Sutton Bridge, England, a daughter of Mackenzie and Eliza Ann Wilkingson Thorpe. She graduated from high school in England. Barbara married F. Dallas Adams on January 15, 1955 in Sutton Bridge, England. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple in 1986. He preceded her in death on March 7, 1989. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed visits from her visiting and home teachers. She loved to teach primary and being with the youth. She loved making people smile by sharing a hello or a story. She had a gift for making everyone feel loved. Barbara was a master ceramic artist, enjoyed traveling with friends and spending time with Reed, baking pies and tarts and most of all spoiling her grandchildren. The family would like to thank all of the nurses and aides that took care of mom the last 5 months, especially CNS Hospice Care. Thank You to Shellece and Leticia. Surviving are two children: Paul (Katrina) Adams of Layton; Malissa (Robert) Briggs of Mt. Vernon, OH; seven grandchildren, Mackenzie (Ashley), Joah, Abigail, Olivia, Alex, Zoe and Adam; one brother, Mackenzie Thorpe, Australia; three sisters, Rachel Smith, England; ThelmaFae Archer, Canada and Wendy Johnston, Georgia and her best friend, Reed Darley of Wellsville. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Dallas and one brother, Raymond. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Gillies Funeral Chapel, 634 East 200 South, Brigham City, UT. A viewing will be held on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. prior to the services at the funeral chapel. Interment will be in the Brigham City Cemetery.
Dear Paul and all of your loved ones who knew and loved your Mom, my deepest sympathies as you grieve her passing. She sounds like she was a wonderful woman, a wonderful human being. Take peace in knowing you'll be united again with her someday! Many blessings,

Oh how I loved your mom. She new my parent's when i was just alittle girl. Then when I worked at Kent's we grew a speacial friendship. She was so awesome to everyone & told you how it was. She could alway's pick me up if I were done. & she alway's had a hug for me. Melissa I donr know if you remenber me I was a year ahead of you in school. My maiden name was 'Higley"! just wanted you all to know how much I cared for your sweet mo & I was sure blessed for have knowing her. Familie's are forever!!
