BRIGHAM CITY - Our loving sister, aunt, and friend, Juana Silva, 90, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at Bear River Valley Care Center in Tremonton, Utah with family by her side. She was born on May 7, 1922 in Fredericksburg, Texas, a daughter of Marcelo and Josefa Garcia Silva. Juana is a member of St. Henry's Catholic Church. She loved cooking and making the best Mexican food ever. She enjoyed having flowers and plants around her, and tended her flower garden often. She loved embroidery and sewing. She also enjoyed gambling in Wendover with family. Juana was a homemaker and loved her family very much. She spent most of her life taking care of others, whether it was her siblings, her many nieces and nephews, or friends. The family would like to thank the Bear River Valley Care Center for their loving care for Juana. Surviving is one sister, Estelle Silva of Brigham City and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers: Elidio Silva, Domingo Silva, Patricio Silva, Sr., Eberisto Silva, Antonio Silva, and Marcello Silva, Jr., three sisters: Mary Silva Cardenas, Felicita Silva Gallegos, and a baby girl, and several nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Henry's Catholic Church, 380 South 200 East, Brigham City, UT. A viewing will be held on Monday evening from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. with a Rosary following at 7:30 p.m. at Gillies Funeral Chapel, 634 East 200 South, Brigham City, Utah. Interment will be in the Brigham City Cemetery.
