BRIGHAM CITY - Our loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother-in-law, uncle and friend, Jerald Max Parsons, 79, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by family members on Wednesday, February 20, 2013. Dad was born on January 19, 1934 in Brigham City, Utah, a son of Wallace and Louise Mathison Parsons. He was reared and educated in Brigham City, Utah. Dad married his sweetheart Mary Gunderson on October 18, 1951. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Mom preceded dad in death on March 28, 2005. Dad worked on his father's farm for many years. He then worked for R.W. Frank & Co., Brigham Tire, and Parsons Service Center. He also owned and operated Robbins Donuts/The DoNut Shoppe, The Hotel Lounge, Parsons’ Pilot Car Service and the Orbit Inn. Dad then retired from Parsons Auto Salvage. Since he was a boy, dad enjoyed collecting marbles, coins, and working miniatures, although his greatest collection was his baseball caps - numbering in the hundreds. Dad loved to go road tripping with his family. We fondly remember from our childhood trips to Carter, Wyoming, Yellowstone and wherever the navigator took us. His greatest enjoyment was taking mom and with their camper spending many weekends with his family camping on their property at Lava Ranch. The family would like to give heartfelt thanks to Dr. John S. Friden (Sandy), Meals on Wheels, Senior Center, Integrity Home Care and Hospice, especially Lexi and Nicole. He left us kids, J Michael (Karen Wixom), Brigham City; James Lynn (Jacquie) Lacey, WA; Janeen (Craig) Bywater, Brigham City; Paula (Scott) Chambers, Yelm WA; Jari (Tim) Francis, Brigham City; John David (Patrice),Portland, OR; 22 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and sisters/brothers-in-law: Nelda Parsons, Connie Parsons, Art Landon, Karen Crawford, Paul and Dixie Allen, John and CarolAnn Gunderson, and Steve and Marge Gunderson. Dad was preceded in death by his parents, our mom, Mary, grandson, J.D. Parsons, granddaughter, Mallory Parsons, brothers, Richard, Duane and sister, Beverly Landon. I'm sorry to hear of your father's passing. I remember us all as kids and it doesn't seem like our parents should be getting older. My thoughts are with you.
I want to express my condolences to all the children of Mary and Jerald. I would love to come and support all of you, but don't know if it is possible. Just know my thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of loss.

My condolences to the Parsons family. I used to manage the Flying J on 12th and Wall while I was in college many years ago. Jerald was a daily sometimes twice daily customer. He was always smiling and happy and my day a lot better.
Sorry about your father's passing. I know you have been a caregiver for him these last few years and hope you find peace in knowing he is with your mother and others who have gone before. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Sorry I am sick so cannot attend.
