ST. GEORGE - EvaLu Olsen Conan, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, June 13, 2013, to return home to her Heavenly Father in St. George, Utah. "Eva" was born February 1, 1925, in Willard, Utah, to Henry and Della Olsen. She was the youngest of three older sisters; Marcia (Lawrence) Poulsen, Francis (Merlin) Nelson, and Iola (Gene) Miconi. Eva was raised in Willard, Utah, and attended school at Lincoln Elementary School in Brigham City, Utah, followed by high school at Box Elder High School, graduating in May of 1943. She went to nursing school at St. Mary's of the Wasatch in Salt Lake City receiving her LPN. Mom met the love of her life, Max Conan, at the age of thirteen. They were childhood sweethearts. They were married on July 11, 1946, in Dillon, Montana. Mom and Dad were inseparable. They began their married life in Perry, Utah. Their first child, Terri, was born in 1947, followed by Roger in 1948, and Mitchell in 1957. They were best friends and lovers for almost 67 years. Eva began her professional career in the Payroll department at the Atomic Energy Commission in Idaho Falls, Idaho, which was later contracted to Idaho Nuclear, followed by Aerojet Nuclear, and finally by EG&G at the Idaho National Engineering Laboratory, Department of Energy, as a Financial Officer, retiring in 1990. Throughout all of their lives, Mom and Dad had dogs that they dearly loved. These canine friends included Peanuts, Rinnie, Pumpkin, Girl Tyke and now Tucker. They loved and adored their four legged friends. They walked their dogs many times a day, providing wonderful loving company and giving both Mom and Dad and their dogs great exercise year around. Mom and Dad were always very active, playing years of both singles and doubles in league tennis. They also participated in several bowling leagues over the years. In their early 40's, they discovered golf, which they cherished, and became total golf addicts, and decided to move from Idaho Falls to St. George early in their retirement in 1991. They played golf nearly every day for the next 20 years. Mom was great at golf, having eight hole-in-ones. Eva is survived by her husband, Max, children Terri Price (Ogden, Utah), Roger and Janelle Conan (Franktown, Colorado), and Mitch and Margo Conan (Idaho Falls, Idaho), eleven grand children, and twenty-three great-grand children.
