Our loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, great-great grandfather, brother-in-law, uncle and friend, Arthur Dixon Landon, 89, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 23, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on August 28, 1924 in New Plymouth, Idaho, a son of James Warren and Ella Meyer Landon. Art graduated from New Plymouth High School in 1942. He served in the US Army during World War II as a Corporal. Art was honorably discharged in 1946. He married Beverly Elaine Parsons on October 17, 1944 in Brigham City, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. Art worked at Hill Air Force Base working as a production scheduler and retired after 32 years. He then worked as an electrician at Thiokol and retiring in 1989. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served as a home teacher and Sunday School teacher. Art enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, traveling, wood carvings and loved spoiling his grandchildren and being with his family and friends. Art loved his constant companion, his dog Molly. The family would like to thank Tonya Hendricks for her many years of care. Also the family would like to thank Lori Gillies with Encompass Hospice and Anthony Salazar for always being there when needed. Surviving are four children: Larry Landon, Layton; Susan (Steve) Wiggins, Ogden; Steve (Evelyn) Landon, Tremonton; Kathy (Dennis) Jenkins, Brigham City; 25 grandchildren, 51 great grandchildren, 17 great-great grandchildren and two sister-in-laws, Connie and Nelda Parsons both of Brigham City. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Beverly, one grandson, Danny Davison, two daughter-in-laws. Pat and Linda Landon; one sister, Mary Landon; brother-in-laws, Richard, Duane, Jerald Parsons and one sister-in-law, Mary Parsons. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Brigham City LDS 26th Ward Chapel, 865 South 300 West. A viewing will be held on Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Gillies Funeral Chapel, 634 East 200 South, Brigham City, Utah and on Saturday at the CHURCH from 10:00 to 10:40 a.m. Interment will be in the Brigham City Cemetery, where military honors will be accorded by the Box Elder Combined Veterans Honor Guard.
