Our loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and friend, Lillian Sheffield Westover, 89 passed away peacefully on Friday, August 17, 2012 at the Brigham City Community Hospital surrounded by her family.
She was born September 5, 1922 in Brigham City, Utah, a daughter to William Aquilla and Lillie Victoria Malmrose Sheffield.
Lillian married W. Ralph Westover on July 20, 1944 in the Logan LDS Temple. He preceded her in death in 2006.
Lillian was a lifelong resident of Brigham City except for 18 months when she and Ralph lived in Perry, Florida while Ralph was in the military.
Lillian is a graduate of Box Elder High School class of 1940. She also attended and graduated from Cosmetology School in Ogden.
She was a very active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Some of her favorite callings were teaching in primary, serving with Ralph as ward, stake, and regional dance directors. They taught many youth in the area to dance. Lillian and Ralph worked for 15 years as ordinance workers in the Ogden LDS Temple. She was so excited to have a temple in Brigham City.
She had a beauty shop in her home and did hair for over 50 years. She belonged to the Ladies Community Club, Birthday Club with Friends to celebrate birthdays, and a sewing club that met once a month.
Lillian enjoyed sewing clothes for her family, reading, embroidery, and tying quilts. She loved spending her time with her family.
The family would like to thank Pioneer Care Center and the Brigham City 9th Ward Relief Society and her home teacher Glenn Elgan, and also a special thanks to the family and friends who stopped by just to visit.
Survived by her three children; Elva (James) Schroeder, Ogden, Robert Westover, Floyd (Robin) Westover, both of Brigham City; 19 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, two step grandchildren, and two step great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph, her parents, one son, James R., two grandchildren, and three brothers.

Dear Westovers, what a pleasure to know your mother!  To know her was to love her! Their home felt like being in the temple-little wonder the temple held such a special place for her.  Glad she is with your dad again! She will be missed (Ill miss her)!

It was such a pleasure to grow up in the Westover neighborhood. I would sometimes purposely walk by their house because if she was out on the porch, she would invite me up to visit. She taught the young women how to waltz with our dads. So many memories of Brother and Sister Westover. I loved them both.
