Brigham City - Our loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and great-great grandfather, Cambron R. Petersen, 90, passed away peacefully with his family surrounding him in Brigham City, Utah. He was born on March 10, 1922 in Price, Utah, a son of Charles and Josephine Cambron Petersen. He was reared and educated in Price, Utah. Cambron served in World War II as a staff sergeant in the Army. First soldier returning from World War II to Price as a wounded soldier. Cambron married his sweetheart, Evelyn J Rasmussen on August 1, 1945 in the Salt Lake City, Utah and their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. They had three sons, James C., Danny V. and Robert R. Petersen. He retired from Thiokol as a Security Supervisor. Cambron and Evelyn enjoyed spending the winters in Wellton, Arizona and met many wonderful friends. He enjoyed painting, camping, hunting, fishing and golfing and got a hole in one in Wellton, Arizona. The family would like to thank the staff at Pioneer Care Center for the excellent care Cambron received. Surviving are his wife, Evelyn of Brigham City; one son, Robert (Nancy) Petersen, Ogden; eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, James and Danny, granddaughter, Jodee, daughter-in-law, Cindy Petersen, four brothers, Delbert, Chuck, Wesley, Charles Laverne Petersen and four sisters, Annie Marie, Eava, Mae Marie and Mary. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, August 4, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Price Cemetery, Price, Utah, where military honors will be accorded by the American Legion Post 3. A viewing will be held on Friday, August 3, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Gillies Funeral Chapel, 634 East 200 South, Brigham City, Utah.
Eve and Bobby, You know how important you all are in my life! "R" was my second "dad". my "Big Moose". I love you all! and I will miss him forever!
